Krawiec was also a No. 1 qualifier

But Johnson, the No. 1 qualifier, had the most dominant Pro Stock car all weekend and won in 6.542 seconds compared with 6.573 for Anderson. Johnson, like Brown, has a chance to sweep the Western Swing next week.

Krawiec was also a No. 1 qualifier. He breezed past the first two rounds, then beat Hector Arana by .038 seconds in the semifinals and Hines by .030 in the final. It was the third straight week Krawiec beat Hines in the final round

Driver Rich Takahashi, competing in the Top Sportsman class, had a frightening accident when he lost control of his car. It slammed against both retaining walls and came to rest right side up, with parts strewed all over the track. Takahashi was taken to a

hospital, but his injuries were not considered serious.

He and Rays starter David Price matched scoreless

David Phelps started in place of the injured C. C. Sabathia and pitched well. He lasted only four and one-third innings, but allowed just one run on two hits. He lamented his three walks, but he also struck out a career-high eight batters.

He and Rays starter David Price matched scoreless, hitless innings for three frames. The Rays took the lead in the fourth when Ben Zobrist led off with a walk and, two strikeouts later, Sean Rodriguez singled to center for the Rays’ first hit. Price, who did not allow a hit until the fifth inning, was even better. With a biting curveball to go with his 97-mile-an-hour fastball, he was dominant.

“That’s as good as I’ve ever seen him,” said Teixeira, who hit Price’s only mistake into the left-field stands to tie the score, 1-1, in the seventh.

James sought to regain some of the public’s trust by leading

James turned the hoses of criticism on himself for his “Decision’’ and then with his apparent desire to embrace the villain role, as everyone from staunch Celtics fans at TD Garden to old ladies in Framingham retirement homes rooted against the Heat.

Many laughed loudly last June when James’s promise of a title fell short at the hands of the more cohesive but less talented Dallas Mavericks.

This year, James sought to regain some of the public’s trust by leading quietly and humbly, two characteristics lost in his quest for independence.

After the loss last year, James made the damaging statement: “At the end of the day, all the people that was rooting on me to fail, at the end of the day they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today.

Kuroda did not allow a base runner

Kuroda did not allow a base runner until there were two outs in the fourth inning and Josh Thole reached on an error by Derek Jeter. But Kuroda, using a nasty sinker all night in combination with a live fastball and a biting slider, shattered David Wright’s bat and the bouncing ball was converted into a double play by Alex Rodriguez.

While all eyes were fixed on Santana and how he would react following his historic night, Kuroda looked so dominant that another no-hitter seemed rather possible, even if he still had a long way to go.

“Especially with what Santana did last week you kind of thought, maybe this is going to happen here,” Joe Girardi said. “We’ve seen a lot of special things happen at Yankee Stadium; maybe it will happen, who knows? Unfortunately it didn’t, but he still pitched a great game.”

Only one man had ever pitched two consecutive no-hitters, but according to the Elias Sports Bureau, no team had ever been no-hit in the first game pitched by their own pitcher after he threw a no-hitter.

Hagelin continues on his path and finishes his check with his arms high

Hagelin’s hit on Alfredsson occurred at 10:32 of the second period in the Ottawa end. After Alfredsson moved the puck along the boards, Hagelin landed his elbow on Alfredsson’s head, sending him into the glass.

“After Alfredsson chips the puck up the boards, Hagelin continues on his path and finishes his check with his arms high, recklessly striking Alfredsson in the side of head with his elbow,” league disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan said in a video explanation that accompanied the announcement of the suspension. “This hit is a clear violation of what is defined by NHL rules as elbowing.

Devin Setoguchi, who had a goal and two assists in regulation

“It’s pretty cheap,’’ Crosby said. “He skates 10 feet in between the whistle. . . . If that’s a sign of what’s to come it’s going to be a pretty tough playoff series.’’

The Penguins have dropped three of four and lead the Flyers by the slimmest of margins with three games left. The Penguins play in Boston on Tuesday night while the Flyers play host to the Rangers.

Devin Setoguchi, who had a goal and two assists in regulation, and Erik Christensen scored in a shootout to lead visiting Minnesota to its third straight victory.

At Dallas, Dirk Nowitzki scored 28 points and Rodrigue Beaubois scored 18

At Miami, LeBron James scored 21 points and capped his night by banking in a halfcourt shot, Chris Bosh added 20 points and the Heat snapped a two-game slide by rolling past the New Jersey Nets, 108-78.
The win may have come with a cost: Dwyane Wade turned his right ankle late in the first half and did not return, finishing with 13 points. Wade missed six games earlier this season after spraining the same ankle.
At Dallas, Dirk Nowitzki scored 28 points and Rodrigue Beaubois scored 18 off the bench to lead the Mavericks over the New York Knicks, 95-85.

They missed nine 3s in the final 5:09

But Rodney McGruder, who scored a game-high 24 points, responded with two quick buckets for the Wildcats (19-8, 8-7). Mizzou then tried to recover with 3-pointers instead of venturing into the lane.
They missed nine 3s in the final 5:09, and Kansas State pulled away despite some suspect free-throw shooting.
“We were trying to get a five-point shot instead of continuing to play and be aggressive and attack,” Haith said.
In such a physical game, Haith was disappointed the Tigers didn’t penetrate more in an attempt to generate free throws down the stretch.

Armed with a kingdom-wide prospecting licence, a mass of data from a range of different sources

Armed with a kingdom-wide prospecting licence, a mass of data from a range of different sources, and a powerful local partner, the company’s geologists took to the land and – in the best traditional sense of the word – began to explore.
Now, many highly prospective localities have been identified, and exclusive exploration licences applied for over twenty of them – the first of which was awarded in June this year.
It’s been a long drawn out process. Kefi is one of the very earliest non-Saudi exploration companies to enter the Shield, and has a distinct first-mover advantage.
But that brings its own burden – as the recently-introduced KSA system of licence approval could almost be described as still being in beta testing! There are twelve government departments involved in the process, which also involves meetings with regional authorities, local stake-holders and communities, and each step is being carefully assessed and tested by the Deputy Ministry of Mineral Resources (DMMR) as it takes place.
Kefi’s local JV partner – the Saudi construction conglomerate known as ARTAR – has been hugely valuable in this process, providing communication channels with the “right” people to aid in speeding the licences through the system where that’s possible.
“It’s a completely different culture,” says MD Jeff Rayner. “You need to have exactly the right people on the ground, with experience of local conditions, who are able to identify and use the correct approach to the correct person in the correct department whenever there is a difficulty.
“We could not have done this alone – and the support ARTAR give us in this justifies every percentage point they own of our 40-60% JV!”
